My

Mission

I will be your strong and assertive voice in the Republican Party of Florida. Changes in committee rules directly impact the workings of our Manatee Republican Party, including any revisions to the model constitution we must follow at the county level. As a lifelong Republican activist, I will speak not alone but alongside fellow Republicans I have known for many years across our state. While the inexperienced offer one voice and one vote, my experience and extensive network will amplify our impact on the issues that matter to us.

I am committed to providing you with timely and accurate information on party activities. I will be available to you for meetings in person, by phone, or by email. You will also have full access to information on my website or receive updates directly to your email. Direct links to public information and interesting articles will ensure you stay as up-to-date as possible.

On our local executive committee, I will be the calm voice of reason among our vocal factions, striving to focus on our common ground and the mission of our local party: getting Republicans elected. I will be vocal about adhering to our constitution and by-laws, and I will not waver from upholding the oath I signed to the Republican Party in order to run for this office

I SWEAR

My Oath of Office

and/or affirm that during my term of Republican State Committeewoman representing Manatee County I will not actively, publicly, or financially support the election of any candidate seeking election against: (1) The Republican Party’s nominee in a partisan unitary, general, or special election that includes a Republican nominee; or (2) A registered Republican in a non-partisan election except that this provision does not apply to judicial races under Chapter 105, Florida Statutes.

Oath

I FURTHER SWEAR

or affirm that, in a contested Republican primary election, I will not support the nomination of one Republican candidate over another in my capacity as a Republican County Executive Committee member unless the Party has voted to endorse under RPOF Rule 8. This provision does not preclude me from supporting in any manner my personal Republican candidate of choice in a contested Republican primary election, provided I do not express such support with public reference to my title or office within the Republican Party of Florida.

I take oaths seriously

Most people have never even heard of a Republican Committeewoman!

What do we do?

Once every four years (when we select our presidential nominee), we select committeewomen and men.

Each registered Republican in Manatee can vote on Primary Day, AUGUST 20th, for a State Committeewoman and Committeeman. You might say you are electing your representative to the State Party.

Each precinct does that same thing, but because multiple seats are in each precinct, often there are fewer candidates than seats! So that means the people who apply are automatically elected.

So after the election, the county committee meets with all of the precinct committee people. A Chairman of the county is selected.

At that time the 3 people to represent our county of Manatee - the new Chairman (selected by the precinct committeepeople along with the State Committeewoman and man that were selected by all Republican voters in the county!

Meeting state-wide, all counties select Florida’s representatives to the Republican National Committee - a National Committeewoman and man. The third member is the person elected Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida.

Committeewomen represent Republicans in their district in the local, state and national levels in the official governing entity of The Republican Party.

I am running for State Committeewoman to represent all registered Republicans in Manatee County, Florida on the State Committee of the Republican Party of Florida.

My job will be to attend the state meetings, vote in our county’s interest and for the good of the party, and - most importantly - report back to you so that you know what is happening.

I am proud and honored to give this personal endorsement to Linda Ivell. She is one of the most politically astute and hardest working Republican activists and volunteers I have ever known. She has done it all, from running campaigns (at all levels) to knocking on doors. She has helped to elect hundreds of candidates. You can count on her to work, teach, lead and support our party at this critical time. As I traveled the state and sat as your National Committeeman I had the privilege to work with many people. I saw much leadership in action. I think I can recognize leadership when I see it! Linda Ivell is a leader you will be proud of in any political setting. For all of these reasons I write this endorsement and recommend your support go to Linda to serve you and Manatee County. You can do no better! Linda brings experience and solid leadership you can count on.

I am thrilled to be able to endorse Linda Ivell for State Committeewoman. I have known Linda for years and had the privilege to work with her in her role as Republican woman leader in your State of Florida. The National Federation of Republican Women hosted our convention in Orlando in 2009 and Linda was our Convention Chair. She worked tirelessly to make sure the event was successful and took pride in showcasing Florida. Linda’s ability to organize and provide strong leadership is a talent that would suite the role as a Committeewoman well. Her dedication and strong principles are a part of our organization and mirror what the Republican Party supports. Having someone like Linda represent you would be an outstanding addition to your team.
